Time to implement advocate consultation fee by every advocate :-

We advocates are giving free consultation whenever party/client comes. Sometimes few advocates are charging nominal consultation fee after giving hours together discussion with them.

Most of the clients are taking this as advantage and going to number of advocates and killing their valuable time and taking 2 or 3 advocates suggestions they pretend as if they are law graduates and go to 4th advocate and in reverse question him/her as if they came to question the capabilities of advocate....and they also enquire about court fee and other details and start bargaining as if they came to fruit market.

In this way we advocate feternity are losing our time, money and fame.

But in medical field, no patient does that....why because if he need to consult any doctor....he may be junior or senior doctor., first the patient need to take appointment, before getting in the doctor chamber, the patient need to pay his consultation fee and then only he can enter doctor chamber. Even after paying fee, the patient cannot waste the doctor time for hours......

But in our profession, the client never take appointment, directly enters into chamber as if he is entering his own house, that too without paying fee he keeps hours together discussion and simple walks away. Taking this advantage the client approachs other advocates and do the same thing....

Here it is not the mistake of that  client, it is we ourselves had given that leanness to that client..

So, only we advocates are suffering huge losses in this pendamic situation. we ran sort of savings and seeing that someone will come and save us. 

So, this should be an eye opener to all our advocate fraternity and we should not give any free sugestions by phone, email etc.,  we should keep consultation fees it may be minimum Rs.100/- to Rs.1000/- per hour, depending upon seniority. We should not render free suggestions. 

Thus from now onwards we advocates should start charging our consultation fee that too before the client enters our chamber. We should not encourge any client if he had already taken suggestion from another advocate and approached us for cross check,  he can get suggestion if he paid consultation fee on both occasions. We should not degrade our fellow advocate before client saying that he takes heavy fees. Fees will vary from advocate to advocate depending upon his seniority, experience and grip on that subject. 

So i request our fellow advocate fraternity to adopt strictly the consultantion fee process, so that we may not fall in this situation in future.

Advocate profession is a noble profession. Yes, i agree, but not at the risk of advocate survival and starvation, Advocate has every right to earn for himself and his family. He cannot do on free service and struggle to hand and mouth in this pendamic situation. During this 5 months we advocates should also learn some good things, atleast by seeing other professions. No other profession suferred badly then our professionals.
